Agents have become so widespread that a separate industry is growing around their security, much as antivirus software once grew around PCs.
The company was founded by alumni of Israel's Unit 8200; the money came in two seed rounds: $10 million from Sequoia and $40 million from Greenoaks. AIR finds SI agents running inside a company, continuously checks the add-ons they use and maintains a catalog of vetted tools; it currently filters out about 27% of the skills and plugins it finds online. It has more than 20 customers, about a quarter of them large corporations.
