OpenAI connects ChatGPT to Epic medical records: doctors will be able to ask SI about a specific patient

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Publication time restored from the build log. . Updated: .

A doctor gets an assistant that pulls a patient's whole medical history into a single picture in seconds, leaving clinicians more time for the patients themselves.

ChatGPT for Healthcare can now pull visit notes, lab results, medications and specialist reports from Epic (records of more than 325 million patients) in read-only mode, or work directly inside the patient's chart. In testing, physicians rated 99.1% of responses as safe, out of more than 4,300 evaluations across 27 clinical scenarios. A plugin with open medical databases (PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, RxNorm) has been added. UCSF Health is one of the first pilot partners.
